"First joining the police career, as a Military Police Officer, then as a Chicago Transit Police and finally as a Chicago Police Officer. I was a patrol Officer for about three years. I was promoted to Detective and also Gang Crimes Specialists in the Gang Unit. I was involved in six shoot outs with criminals, mostly Armed Robberies. I was engaged with three armed robbers, at which time I fatally wounded one and injured a second and arrested the third. As the years passed, I gave up my detective rating and went back to work in a tactical unit in the 019th District. After approximately four years I was permanently injured and placed on duty disability for 17 years. I had answered a call of two police officers in need of assistance, at this time my career as a street cop ended. "

On a personal note from Ro, please buy a copy of Greg's book. He was a duty disabled officer and now retired. Greg was also a proud supporter and promoter of the Disabled Chicago Police Officer's Association 1998-2004. He assisted us in trying to get legislation passed, which helped hundreds of fellow officers on disability receive a cost of living increase, retro back pay, and a child annunity increase. So, let's pay it forward and purchase a copy of Greg' book!
